When we thought Shimano XT couldn't get any cooler, we are given 2 piece rotors. Usually such technology is only reserved for the premium line of rotors, but Shimano has brought the technology down to the more affordable XT line of components. The benefits of the XT 2 piece rotors are lighter weight, better cooling, and better warp resistance. The Shimano RT-79 series rotors use Shimano's centerlock technology, which is lighter, more stable, and easier to install than the traditional 6 bolt system.
